While it’s true Nintendo revealed the specs and features of the Wii U’s controller at E3 2011, we will finally see the final product in 2012.

The 2012 E3 is being held June 5-7, 2012, and will feature the finished Wii U console. Later that year, the Wii U will hit shelves for your entertainment.

Hopefully this will turn around the red-zone Nintendo’s been feeling in their wallet. If you haven’t heard, the Wii U features a tablet-style controller, with analog sticks and motion sensors. It can function as an inventory for a game, or a weapon, or a tee for gold, and so much more. While only one can be used on each Wii U, four more Wii Motes can be utilized for up to five players in each game. Play fighter games with four gunsmen and one pilot on the tablet; be Zelda and get to your items more easily with the inventory in your hand, all the time.

Oh, one of the best features of this Wii U controller is the ability to use it as an independent screen. Confused? Well, say you’re in the middle of an action-packed plot; your spouse/sibling/friend wants to watch something on the TV; simply use the tablet-only mode (but leave your Wii U on) and you can continue playing while they watch whatever they want to!

    Pretty cool, yeah?

The Wii U is on Amazon but no price details are yet listed.

The Next Super Smash Bros Game on Wii U!

I remember when Super Smash Bros. first came out! The N64 became a group event, with all of us beating each other up, winning races, collecting more coins, and the like. It was awesome.

Well, the Wii U will have a Super Smash Bros. title releasing, and the name has been leaked: Super Smash Bros. Universe!

The leak supposedly comes from a document that has been found online (to the left) but who knows if this is legitimate or not. Does it even matter?

Why Universe? Probably because Nintendo has found several non-Nintendo franchise characters to join the battle. Imagine if we see Master Chief battling Link: that would be downright legendary.

But even though the game may have a name, the release date is not for a few more years. I mean, the Wii U isn’t even out yet, but we can still be excited for some games (like Zelda!).

Anyways, stay tuned for more news on the Wii U.
