Every good coach will tell you that you would need to warm up. These are usually done before you engage in sports or in a series of exercises. Warm ups would also be a series of exercises. However, they would be very light and easy exercises.
So what is warming up really for?
A warm up is actually gradually increasing the intensity of an activity, hence, raising your pulse rate. It would help you gradually adapt to the physical activities that you will be performing later on. It will involve stretching your muscles and warming your muscles and increase your heart rate. These would also help activate the energy systems required for a certain activity.
Warm ups would also trigger the release of adrenaline. And everybody knows what adrenaline is for. It would actually help boost endurance for the activities to be performed later on. It would also, as mentioned earlier, increase the heart rate. This allows the oxygen and blood to travel faster in your body. It also would help in the release of lubrication for your joints, preventing any sprains or other unwanted joint issues. It would also cause your capillaries to dilate, allowing greater amounts of oxygen to travel through your body.

Warm ups also helps warm the muscles. It would be able to aid in the viscosity of muscle fibers, thus allowing it to be more extensible and elastic. This would prevent cramps.
As technology advances, the ways to keep fit also evolve. It could be really dull and boring to go to the gym to work out. But Nintendo has found a way to help us workout without actually going to the gym at all.
Nintendo brings us Wii Fit. This would spring from the Nintendo Wii gaming console. It would involve several fitness exercises from easy, medium and hard levels. This is a convenient way of toning those muscles and staying in shape.
The Wii Fit is a fitness program that would incorporate fun and competition to the game. It has become appealing to all age groups, succeeding in breaking the connotation of gaming consoles being solely for teenage-male fans.
And as with any other exercise routine, the Wii Fit offers a wide variety of warm-up exercises that would suit the level of activity that you are going to engage in. These warm-up exercises would be at around 15 minutes each. There are five warm up exercises that would be fit for those who are just starting to work out. If you would need an increase in the intensity, there would be the five of the medium difficulty warm ups. And finally, there would be four hard warm ups for the intensity that you need to begin with strenuous activities.
These warm up exercises would begin with around four to six minutes of stretching. Then it will be followed by about ten minutes of actual warm up exercises. These exercises would include stretching of the back and the legs, running or jogging, stretching of the arms and the bending and stretching of joints.
Warming up is definitely a must before doing anything really difficult. And the Wii Fit is a convenient way to keep in shape and stay in shape in the comforts of your home.
